Untermyer Gardens is a unique and beautiful Persian garden, plus so much more, on a former estate overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. It has a very interesting background story and is undergoing an extensive long term restoration via the Untermyer Garden Conservancy in partnership with the City of Yonkers. (Think Central Park Conservancy, Friends of the High Line, etc) There are docent-led tours every Sunday until November. The tours last 90 minutes and cost $10 per person, kids 12 and under are free. No registration is required; just show up. See the website for more info: untermyergardens.org
