Community Corner

One year after Sandy Hook - Circles of Peace

Circles of Peace, a Mamaroneck-based grass roots organization dedicated to promoting peace and the daily practice of mindfulness, invites the public to mark the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy with a community gathering at the Mamaroneck Public Library on Sunday, January 26th @ 3PM.
The Circle event will concentrate on the theme, “The Circle of Life,” and will feature a wide array of performances from local artists and musicians, from young up-and-coming songwriters to poet laureate Mary Louise Cox. The event, which will run approximately 35-40 minutes, will conclude with a group poem.
Circles of Peace activities are ongoing.  The next Circles event will be an Art Exhibition entitled “Dreams of the World,” to be held at the Mamaroneck Public Library in February 2014. The group has also instituted monthly mindfulness meetings & weekly meditation practice.  All Circles of Peace gatherings are free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Circles of Peace website at http://circlesofpeacenow.org/Home.html and “like” the Circles of Peace Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/circlesofpeacemay12.
