David Shields is the author of 13 books, including How Literature Saved My Life, Reality Hunger: A Manifesto, The Thing About Life Is That One Day You'll Be Dead, Black Planet: Facing Race during an NBA Season, Remote: Reflections on Life in the Shadow of Celebrity and Dead Languages: A Novel.
