Can America Break its Throw-it-All Away Habit?

Reducing Our Impact While Making An Impact

ATTENTION STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS:
INSPIRING STORIES FROM LEADERS WHO ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO REDUCE OUR FOOTPRINT

Can America break its throw-it-all-away habit? Can we reduce the vast amounts of waste going into our landfills? Are there ways to build a less wasteful, more sustainable society?

Learn the answer to all these questions and more during a special two-hour presentation on “Reducing Our Impact While Making an Impact” on Wednesday, March 12, at Scarsdale High School (the event co-sponsor), starting at 6:30 p.m. Five panelists - including Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker - who are making a real difference in sustainable design, urban planning, legislation and advocacy will discuss how Americans can re-use, reduce and recycle their way to a healthier, cleaner environment.

The event is free and open to all high school students, teachers and concerned community members. It is sponsored by the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF), an organization dedicated to making sustainability education an integral part of every school’s curriculum and culture. The panel was organized and will be moderated by the CELF Student Ambassadors

Refreshments and networking will follow the discussion. REGISTER via email to patti@celfeducation.org.
