"A Patriot's Home Reimagined for the 21st Century"

At Home on the Sound presents:

"A Patriot's Home Reimagined for the 21st Century"

Suzanne Clary,
President of the Jay Heritage Center, will present a narrative of the Jay
Estate - most famously known as childhood home of American Founding Father,
John Jay. In a profile of the landscape from its prehistoric origins as a
Paleo-Indian settlement to a public park today, she will share stories of Jay's
role as a spymaster for George Washington during the Revolutionary War. We will
also learn about later residents of the site including a freed slave who lived
and died at the property; a co-founder of NY Yacht Club who amassed one of the
largest collection of seashells in the world; and many others. Ms.Clary will also
outline future plans for transforming the property for community use. Free and
open to the public. Refreshments at 3:30; program at 4:00pm. Bring a friend.
