Photos: Clearing Out Larchmont and Mamaroneck

Residents cleared away snow from what was called a historic storm.

With over a foot of accumulation from yesterday's blizzard—a potentially historic amount—Larchmont and Mamaroneck residents awoke to find their cars buried, their walkways impassable and the hum of snowblowers working overtime.  The Town of Mamaroneck Highway Department has been working through the night to keep the roads clear in the area, and the few people out shoveling seemed intent on clearing sidewalks and walkways in front of their homes and businesses.

Although widespread power losses were feared, it appears that very few people were affected in Larchmont and Mamaroneck, at least according to the Con Ed outage map.
