Messy Conditions for A.M. Commute

The National Weather Service predicts rainy conditions for most of today.

Although the snow didn't arrive in time for Christmas this year, the winter storm that originated in the Midwest touched down in Westchester County today, leaving snow and icy road conditions in its wake.

Commuters traversing the roads this morning will have to contend with blustery conditions—with winds predicted to be as high as 28 miles per hour—as well as rain, which could exacerbate icy road conditions, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. today; there may be moderate or minor flooding in areas surrounding the western end of Long Island Sound.

Sunny skies will return on Friday, but the NWS predicts the return of a rain/snow mix on Saturday.
