Carly Rose Sonenclar Competes in 'X Factor' Finale

The Mamaroneck teen was eliminated on 'X Factor' show.

Despite the plethora of "Carly's Angels" rooting for Mamaroneck teen Carly Rose Sonenclar, it, unfortunately, was not enough to propel her to the winner's circle on X Factor tonight.

Tate Stevens, the country music singer competing with Carly in the final rounds after Fifth Element was eliminated, was declared the winner of X Factor and of a $5 million recording contract.

"I got to thank the man upstairs for taking care of me," he said, after the results were announced.

Carly performed "All I Want For Christmas is You" with an army of dancing "toy soldiers" accompanying her on stage.

Judge Simon Cowell echoed what many others have said about the teen star: "I mean, 13-years-old, this girl has such a huge career ahead of her."

Mentor and Judge Britney Spears said of Carly's performance, "Every time she performs it's different."

After her performance, Carly held back tears as she watched a video montage of family and friends wishing her good luck.

"It's pretty surreal," she said of her X Factor experience. "I can't believe it's even happening."

It’s disappointing that Carly didn’t win the $5 million prize, but I agree with Simon Cowell that she has a long career ahead of her. Tate’s country background gave him a lot of supporters, and it’ll be interesting to see how their careers go after the X-Factor. My DISH coworkers were happy that Carly made it this far, but really wanted her to win. I missed their performances, but I’ll watch the finale later since it was recorded on my DISH Hopper through PrimeTime Anytime. I can catch up with programs on the four major networks since my DVR automatically three hours of primetime on those channels.

A journalist that double checks and proofreads the important details would have caught a rather BIG mistake that one of the three groups is call "Fifth Harmony" not "Fifth Element". The negative tone of this report, you would think this was written by the editor of the texas.patch.com as opposed to Mamaroneck patch. Nice.

The show will show a drop, because the show is about sad stories not talent.

ELIMINATED! What a ridiculous headline. Carly Rose came in SECOND, out of tens of thousands! This is an incredible achievement! I'm sure a record company will snatch her up! You don't have to WIN the X-Factor to use it as a launchpad for a career. She has shown millions her talent, and she will go far. This is an amazing achievement for her resume.
