Tribute Concert Honors Westchester's Dorina DiLullo

Singer/actress Dorina DiLullo will be saluted in a one-day tribute concert at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford on Monday, June 17. Along with live performances, the concert will include media footage/audio recordings of DiLullo's work. A trust fund, set up to aid her children and loved ones, will receive the concert proceeds.

A resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, DiLullo appeared on stage in musicals at WBT and many other theaters and taught tap dance at studios in Hastings-on-Hudson and Scarsdale. She collapsed and died at the age of 44 on March 28, 2013.

Students from the two studios, On Hudson Fitness & Dance Studio in Hastings-on-Hudson and Central Park Dance in Scarsdale, will perform excerpts from Di Lullo's work during the concert. Performers from the Lighthouse Youth Theatre, Armonk, where DiLullo was a director, will also participate. Members of a rock band for which she was a vocalist, including Brian Gallagher, will reunite to perform.

At WBT, DiLullo starred in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Oliver and The Full Monty.

The program on June 17 includes selections from West Side Story, Tommy, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Chess, Children of Eden and an original musical called Parusia, written by George Puello. Each piece recalls a role that DiLullo once played.

A cocktail reception and silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. with the performance starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $40 per person and can be purchased online at www.dorinadilullomemorial.org or ordered by phone at 866-967-8167. More information can be requested by e-mail; contact dorinadilullomemorial@gmail.com
