Both Larchmont and Mamaroneck see their fair share of well-known personalities: R&B singer Usher was spotted shopping on Palmer Avenue last year; X Factor star Carly Rose Sonenclar is originally from Mamaroneck; former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner used to live in Larchmont.
On Feb. 4, though, the celebrity most famous for her starring role in the beloved musical The Sound of Music, Dame Julie Andrews, will make a special appearance at The Voracious Reader in Larchmont to sign copies of her new children's book The Very Fairy Princess Follows Her Heart, which was co-written with her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton.
Though the Larchmont bookstore was selling tickets to the event, they didn't last long.
As noted on the Voracious Reader's Facebook page: "Tickets sold out in less than 24 hours but we hope to have lots of signed books available. *rolls out red (pink?) carpet!*"
Signed books can be purchased during or after the event.
