Larchmont's Espana Closing Up Shop

Larchmont's one and only Spanish restaurant Espana will serve its last tapas dish tonight, according to an email announcing the restaurant's closure, after nearly six years on 147 Larchmont Ave.

Espana Office Manager Linda P. said owner Rich Perez sold the restaurant after "someone made an offer too good to pass up." She said Perez will be heading down to Florida to open a diner in Jupiter, a town north of Palm Beach.

"The timing was just perfect," she said, about the sale.

Though she couldn't confirm what the new establishment coming into the soon-to-be empty location would be, Perez, in his email, wrote, "I believe we have handed over our location to a great restaurant and feel they will do very well in the neighborhood."

"I cannot put into words how much this has meant to all of us at the restaurant. Your support and patronage is what has kept our doors open and made it a joy to come to work every day," wrote Perez.
