After Hours Clinic to Open in Mamaroneck

An alternative to the emergency room, a new urgent care clinic in Mamaroneck will treat non life-threatening illnesses on evenings and weekends.

We've all experienced worrisome symptoms at an inconvenient hour, long after our local doctor has closed up shop; nagging coughs and temperatures that pass the three digit mark.  For many, the only option will be a long wait in the hospital emergency room and potential sticker shock when the bill arrives in the mail.

Soon, though, the Mamaroneck community will have another option.

MDxPress—an urgent care clinic on 1030 W. Boston Post Rd. in Mamaroneck across from Equinox—is set to officially open their doors within the next few weeks.  The walk-in clinic will be open seven days per week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, including holidays.

Although MDxPress won’t treat life-threatening illnesses, the list of ailments they will treat is exhaustive and includes many of the symptoms you would visit your family doctor for including fever, lacerations requiring stitches, strep throat, broken bones, allergic reactions and respiratory infections, among others, according to their website.

Additionally, the office will offer on-site X-rays and lab testing, and accepts a wide range of insurance plans (although they do not accept Medicaid).  For those without insurance, fees for services and/or tests can be paid in cash.

To celebrate their opening, MDxPress will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 6 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. with activities and prizes for kids; all are invited.

MDxPress is located on 1030 W. Boston Post Rd. in Mamaroneck, (914) 777-CARE (2273).  For more information, visit their website here.
