Think You're a Good Speller? Test Out Your Skills in Larchmont

The Friends of the Larchmont Library will hold a spelling bee on April 7.

Are you the kind of person who rarely uses spellcheck when composing documents in MS Word?  Do you pride yourself on being able to spell words like "infinitesimal," "lachrymose" or "abscission" without having to consult a dictionary?

The portrayal of spelling bees have shown up in movies like Akeelah and the Bee and countless children's books chronicling a competition that is as American as apple pie. Now, the competition comes to Larchmont.
