Edmund Niemann in Special Performance
Classical Pianist Edmund Niemann
at Larchmont Woman's Club October 15
Classical pianist Edmund Niemann will present a musical analysis of one of music's oldest forms, the prelude, at the Larchmont Woman's Club on Friday, October 15. Special attention will be focused on the nineteenth century when the prelude became an independent piece of music. He will play works by Bach, Chopin, and Shostakovich as well as Scriabin, a 20th century master. In explaining its history, he will demonstrate how this miniature form can contain many other kinds of music, such as a nocturne or a polonaise.
