Winter doesn't mean you have to give up on having a steady supply of fresh food that comes from farms in the area.
The Mamaroneck Indoor Farmers Market is getting set to kick off its fourth season, with the new year bringing new vendors to the market.
On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, the Mamaroneck Indoor Farmers Market will open against at , 168 W. Boston Post Road, in Mamaroneck. Several new vendors are set to debut: American Pride Seafood, Stone and Thistle Farm, Flour City Pasta, Raaka Chocolate, Amazing Real Live Food Co. All of our fish are sustainable, meaning we get them when the stocks are high and they’re never depleted.”
The indoor market includes a seating area, where shoppers can visit over coffee for sale by the church. Miriam Haas, founder of Community Markets, is happy to return to St. Thomas.
“We always appreciate the support of the Mamaroneck and Larchmont communities, especially in the winter," Haas said. "Sometimes people don’t know that there are great local foods to be had in the cold months. The shoppers from the summer markets in Larchmont, New Rochelle, Pelham and Rye are loyal -- they’re our core shoppers. This market allows farmers and producers to connect with their customers all year.”
