Updated Village Construction Schedule from Village Manager

Notice from the Mamaroneck Village Manager Richard Slingerland 

Dear Neighbors and Mamaroneck Business Persons:

The Drainage Improvement Project proceeding up Barry Avenue and across Boston Post Road will start working during the day and night shifts starting Thursday, August 22, 2013, and continuing on Friday, August 23, 2013.  We have not decided yet whether they will work over this weekend, but it is possible that may be necessary.

With the objective in mind of completing the work beneath Boston Post Road to minimize the impacts on the schools by finishing that section before the start of school on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, we are having our contractor work day-time and night-time shifts.

The project continues to be hindered by significant and substantial rock deposits beneath Boston Post Road that need to be drilled and split to make way for the drainage pipe.

The construction will only entail lane closures across Boston Post Road, and traffic will remain open in all directions.  

South Barry Ave. is virtually done and will have top course pavement installed this week.

During the day time and evening construction time frames, Boston Post Road will remain open and passable to traffic in both east and west directions.  North Barry Avenue will remain open.  South Barry Avenue is closed and is detoured due to the construction.  All traffic through this intersection will face traffic back-ups due to the lane closures.  We recommend you seek alternative routes during these time frames.

We apologize for these inconveniences, and appreciate your cooperation and understanding. The next update and status report will be issued on Friday, August 23, 2013, and will advise whether weekend night-work will be taking place.
