Truck Day Popular in Larchmont

Hundreds of children came to the Larchmont Public Library Saturday to climb into and on some of trucks used by the village.

Needless to say, there was some serious horn honking at the Larchmont Truck Day.

Rick Vetere, the Village of Larchmont's Department of Public Works general foreman, said the reason for the free event was simple.

"Little kids love big trucks," he said.

Among those on display were a street sweeper, a fire truck, a boom truck and front loader.

Vetere said the annual truck day has been going on for over eight years.
