Washingtonville Housing Alliance, a Mamaroneck-based organization that helps low-income residents obtain housing, recently commissioned comic book artist Charlie Hood to illustrate their Annual Appeal for donations.
"At this time of year we are all bombarded by appeals – this is our approach to communicating the message in a very clear and direct way," said Jeremy Ingpen, executive director of Washingtonville. The organization seeks to raise $50K, with one Larchmont resident offering to match donations dollar for dollar up to a total of $20K, said Ingpen.
In order to take advantage of the offer, all donations must be received by Dec. 31. A tax-deductible donation can be made by visiting the organization's website here.
