VFW POST ENTERTAINS MONTROSE VA HOSPITAL PATIENTS

On Sunday, December 22, VFW David Potts Jr. Post 1156 held a holiday party at the post for 35 patients and 3 staff members from the Montrose VA Hospital.  The patients thoroughly enjoyed a hearty meal and fellowship with Post members.  Their expressions of gratitude for our efforts were truly heartwarming.  This was the 62nd consecutive year that the Post has hosted this party and its companion picnic in August.  The Post was recognized for 6 decades of service to Montrose Hospital veterans by Gerald Culliton, former Director of the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System, in December 2011.

The primary mission of VFW Post 1156 has always been and will continue to be service to veterans and service to the community.  Our support of patients from Montrose VA Hospital is just one aspect of our ongoing efforts to serve our fellow veterans.  For more information on VFW Post 1156, please see our new (and evolving) website www.vfwpost1156.org.
