THE MARINE EDUCATION CENTER

PRINT A FLOUNDER ON PAPER AND LABEL IT’S FINS !

The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park
presents

“Flounder Fun”

Saturday May 10

10:00 AM to 12 Noon

Roll up your sleeves and we’ll show you how to create a beautiful fish print in seven easy steps
starting by brushing a thin coat of paint on a real flounder,
first from head to tail, in the direction of the scales,
and then on the fins.

Then you’ll cover the painted fish with a piece of paper and carefully smoothe it all over
with your hands going from the highest point of the body outwards in all directions.

Peel back the paper, and you’ve got a flounder!

Participants will label each fin, guided by a Big Flounder painting with accurately labelled fins,
drawn by Nina and Maria, two new Marine Center Staff Members from Mamaroneck High School.
