Minds in Motion to be Hosted by The Stanwich School and Connecticut Association for the Gifted on November 16 - Open to Westchester Students

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 16, the Stanwich School has the honor of hosting Minds in Motion, a popular Saturday program of academic enrichment co-sponsored by the Connecticut Association for the Gifted.  This dynamic 1-day program features hands-on, interactive, high-interest workshops for 300 gifted and high-ability children in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Stanwich will be the first school in 10 years to host a Minds in Motion workshop in Greenwich.

The Stanwich Minds in Motion program offers all children from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6 in Greenwich and the surrounding areas to participate in a variety of mind-bending workshops run by Stanwich faculty and area organizations. Stanwich faculty will present a variety of incredible workshops including: Chemistry Myth Busters; Living in a 2-D Universe; Food-ology: The Science of Cooking; It’s Alive! Life in a Vernal Pond; as well as a hands-on marine science workshop. Sessions will also be presented by the Chinese Language School of Greenwich, Talcott Mountain Science Center, Eli Whitney Museum, and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.

Parents are invited to attend a panel discussion on “Cultivating Care & Courage: How an Optimal Learning Environment Results in Academic Excellence,” followed by their choice of four insightful, thought-provoking workshops on the topics of intellectual development, health and well-being, led by outside experts on each topic.
