Mamaroneck Future Business Leaders' Social Event

This past Friday, the members of the Mamaroneck chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) came together for their Movie Night social event.

The movie around which the event was centered was Moneyball, and members took notes and filled out response sheets after the film in order to document what they had learned from it. Based on a true story, Moneyball showed Mamaroneck FBLA members the importance of leadership in business. Besides being a good source of entertainment, the movie proved to be an excellent educational demonstration of many key aspects of modern business.

Chapter committees were also a key component of the social event and the Community Service Committee members prepared advertising signs for their two charities, the March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity. The Go Green Committee also contributed and summarized their progression in the New York state-sponsored Program of Work through a PowerPoint presentation.

Members had the opportunity to get to know each other better and this event had a record number of new members participating, which ensured a lasting strength of the organization. Held on the last evening of midterm exams week, the Movie Night was a great time for students to relax and socialize, and celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.
