Sept. 11, Volunteering and Pete Seeger

Here are a few of the things you need to know for Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.

1. The annual Larchmont and Mamaroneck ceremony honoring the people who died on Sept. 11, 2001, will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park near Girl Scout Rock.

2. The Volunteer Center of the United Way has organized "9/11: Serve & Remember," with many ways for people to help out in their communities for the week of 9/11. Go here to find out where you can volunteer.

3.  The weather for Wednesday will start off with patchy fog before 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Then it will be sunny with a high near 92. Overnight, there will be a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. There will be patchy fog after 9 p.m. The low will be around 73.

4. Legendary folk singer Pete Seeger will speak at Manhattanville College Sept. 20. Read more here.
