Jackie Robinson, School Backpacks and Sunny Skies

1. The Larchmont Family Matinee Movie presents 42 Wednesday, August 14. There will be two screenings: 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The PG-13-rated film stars Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford and Nicole Beharie. It's the life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey. The Larchmont Public Library is located at 121 Larchmont Ave.

3. Wednesday's forecast calls for sunny skies, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night will be clear, with a low around 58. Thursday calls for more of the same.
