Verizon will provide financial grants totalling some $135,000 to 26 Westchester non-profit agencies.
The presentations will be made at an event to be held on the White Plains campus of the Sisters of Divine Compassion at 52 North Broadway in White Plains at 2 pm.
The grants will be presented to Westchester non-profits that utilize technology in their programs, focus on education, or combat and educate about domestic violence. We also will have as a speaker a Verizon vice president, a New Rochelle resident, who leads the company's pro-bono legal services program.

More About Sisters of the Divine Compassion
The Sisters of the Divine Compassion were founded in 1886 in New York City. The group sheltered, educated and trained girls who were left to fend for themselves or beg.
Eventually, the Roman Catholic organization started a ministry in White Plains and in the 1920s started Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy and Good Counsel College.
It now offers a variety of spiritual services and houses Good Counsel's high, middle and elementary schools on their campus.
