Rosenblum Prevails in Mamaroneck Mayoral Race
According to unofficial results, Norm Rosenblum has been re-elected as Mayor of the Village of Mamaroneck. Louis Santoro has also been re-elected as a village board member.
It was a joyful night at the Mamaroneck Elks Lodge as incumbent Mayor Norm Rosenblum unofficially announced his re-election as mayor of the village.
Both Rosenblum and his running mate, incumbent Louis Santoro who was running for the village board seat, were in the lead by 56 percent over their opponents, with 14 of 15 districts reporting results as of 1 a.m. Both candidates ran on the Republican, Independent and Conservative party lines.
“I was surprised at the strength that we got in areas that were Democratic,” said Rosenblum, continuing, “This is a confirmation of our policies—the voters of Mamaroneck don’t appreciate backroom politics.”
“We will push what’s good for the taxpayers—you have to have people that can afford to live here,” he said.
Rosenblum also pointed to events like Mamaroneck Shares, Harbor Fest and Spooktacular that attracted thousands of visitors to the village to patronize local restaurants and businesses. He has also advocated several revenue-generating projects for the village including a restaurant in Harbor Island and a parking garage.
“We support every aspect of this village,” he said.
Santoro has served the village as a trustee and deputy mayor and is a 35-year member of the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department and President of the Civil Service Union.
Although he’s not surprised by the election results, “I was apprehensive at first.”
“We’re going to continue what we’re doing—working on flooding issues, taxes and volunteers getting involved,” he said.

Please post the results in each Election District, including the total number of registered voters, so we may fairly judge the "mandate" being claimed.

One vote is decisive under our system, I was not questioning the outcome. That wasn't my point. The Mayor claimed success in Democratic districts. Let's see the numbers. How many registered voters are there in the Village, Ds and Rs, how many voted and in which election districts-neighborhoods-were the incumbents successful? Very often election success is as much determined by who voted. That was my point. Dems clearly lost T Hall, but their majority on the Village Board remains.

I have done some of the research -PATCH prefers that I guess. Apparently the overall turn out was 30 of registered voters. I am sending the ED results to Stefani to post.

Yes the dems lost, but they still hold the majority on the board and if we know one thing from the past year, the Mayor can't get much done without both rubber and stamp. What did he get done in the last year.? As I recall, all his initiatives went down last year. If the dems can work together and the Mayor wants to join them maybe the BOT can get a something done this year, but I won't hold my breath.

One of the major things that he got done is that he prohibited you from rudely interrupting the orderly flow of the BOT meetings with your meaningless jabber.

Mary Too,
The "orderly flow" of meetings? Have you ever seen a VOM meeting? LOL
The Deputy Mayor actually runs a fairly orderly meeting when he has the chance, the Mayor.....NOT!
