Patch Picks: Summer Camps
Great summer camps in the Larchmont-Mamaroneck area.
1. Flint Park Summer Day Camp
When: July 6-Aug. 13.
Who: 1st graders, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Fee - $580; 2nd-6th graders, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Fee - $870.
After cutting 4th-6th grade enrollment last year due to a lack of available space for kids during rainy days, the camp has secured enough indoor space to accommodate up to 225 kids in the program. Enrollment is on a first-come first-served basis.
Registration will take place Mar. 25 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Mar. 26 from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Flint Park Playhouse. Applications will be available outside the Larchmont Village Clerk’s office or online approximately one week prior to registration. Open only to residents of the Village of Larchmont and to Chatsworth Avenue school students entering 1st-6th grades in the fall of 2011. Check here for more information.

- All children must be toilet trained before camp starts.
- Proof of age and immunization records required at time of registration.
- Registration for programs may be mailed in or done in-person at the TOM Recreation Department on 740 W. Boston Post Rd. beginning Mar. 21. See here for hours and further instructions.
2. Pre School Camp - Site to be determined
When: July 5-Aug. 12.
Who: Ages 3-5 (by Aug. 12); M-F, 9 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Cost: Resident fees - $525, Rye Neck -$610, Non-Resident -$660.
Activities include program specialists, entertainers, events and visits from the Fire, Police and EMS departments. A snack will be provided.
3. Camp Monroe – Sheldrake Environmental Center
When: July 5-Aug. 12.
Who: Ages 4-5 (by Aug. 12); M-F, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Cost: Resident fees - $625, Rye Neck $710, Non-resident $760.
Facilities include a playground, open fields, a basketball court and more in a wooded setting. Applications accepted beginning Mar. 19; the deadline for the lottery will be 4 p.m. on Apr. 27.
4. Playground Camp –Hommocks Ice Rink
When: July 5-Aug. 12; M-F, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Who: Grades 1-6.
Cost: Resident fees - 1st child $485, 2nd child $465, 3rd child $445; Rye Neck – 1st- $630, 2nd - $610, 3rd -$590; Non-resident, 1st- $680, 2nd -$660, 3rd - $640.
This camp offers a variety of programs including swimming, arts and crafts, dance, sport and games. Special event days include treasure hunts, western day and an end of camp carnival. Some optional day trips include My Three Sons, The Maritime Aquarium and Sportime.
5. Soccer Camp –Hommocks Park,
Development Day Camp - led by 34-year soccer veteran Michael Constantine.
Who: Ages 7-14
When: Session 1: Aug. 15-19 Session 2: Aug. 22-26; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Cost: $325.
Designed to teach the fundamentals of soccer; camp includes day sessions, lunch, swimming, snack and t-shirt.
Kinderkickers
Who: Ages 4-6
When: Session 1: Aug. 15-19 Session 2: Aug. 22-26; 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Cost: $210.
Starter skills will be taught; juice, snack and t-shirt will be provided.
