Election Straw Poll: County Legislator, District 7
Take our election straw poll
The race for the District 7 seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators is between Republican Suzanna Keith and incumbent Democrat Judy Myers.
Suzanna Keith currently serves on the Rye City Council. She has also served on the Rye Playland Commission and Chair of the Twig Organization of New York United Hospital. She owns SK Concepts, a brand marketing firm in Rye. Keith's platform includes advocating for state relief from budget mandates, protecting the County's "rainy day fund," and requiring county workers to contribute to their health care coverage.
Judy Myers is seeking her fourth term on the Board of Legislators. Currently Democratic Caucus Majority Whip, Myers serves on each of the major board committees and the Flood Action Task Force. Myers platform includes increased funding for flood water mitigation projects, improving public health and expanding green space in lower Westchester.
The candidates participated in a forum sponsored by the Larchmont-Mamaroneck League of Women Voters forum. See the video and read about it here.

A corporate executive who lives in Rye and has watched Ms. Keith operate there for years notes:
"The problem with her speeches is they are total air balls. Vapid nothingness - consulting words - non words - and non truths. She rattles on about "solutions," "process," "tool kits," "sustainability" - and if you were a CEO getting her pitch on a key project you would ask her to stop, leave and not come back."

Vote early and vote often. Displacing a key member of Boss Jenkin's block. Judy Meyer's has consistently voted to increase spending. This year's "reduction" was due to usage of reserves, not taking hard decisions. You know, hard decisions like letting 30+ Section 8 employees be terminated when they no longer had a contract to administer. Or insisting that all County employees contribute to their health care costs. Nope. Not Judy Myers. She's got to go.

Please note that you can vote more than once in this vote. It is not relevant. I also hope people saw last Thursday's debate among all of the county legislator candidates. It was quite interesting. Naomi
