Car Break-Ins at Carlton House Apartments in Town of Mamaroneck
Five cars were broken into while parked in the building's resident lot on Chatsworth Avenue in the Town of Mamaroneck.
Several residents of the Carlton House apartment building on 35 Chatsworth Ave. awoke Saturday morning to find their car's windows smashed by an unknown perpetrator.
A total of five cars were broken into, however, only one resident reported property stolen from the car, said Lt. Robert Koziak, spokesperson for the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department. The crimes happened the night of Feb. 3 and were reported the following morning at 8:30 a.m. In all cases, a window was smashed, presumably to gain access to the interior of the vehicle.
The cars were parked in a private lot adjacent to the building for residents and included the following: a 2011 Mercedes, a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, a 2000 Mercedes, a 2002 Lexus and a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder.
The owner of the 2000 Mercedes reported several missing items including a $400 iPod, $80 iPod charger, $150 Ray-Ban sunglasses and a $350 Garmin GPS.
The case is under investigation by town police.
