At Home on the Sound Finds a Home

The search for a part-time executive director is underway.

At Home on the Sound, an organization dedicated to helping Larchmont-Mamaroneck residents stay in their homes as they get older, took two major steps toward opening for service this spring as it began the search for a part-time executive director and moved into its first office.

The office on the third floor of the building housing Briggs House Antiques at 545 Tompkins Ave. in Mamaroneck is large enough to serve as an administrative resource center and as a meeting place, said Lynn Reichgott, president of At Home's board.

"This space will serve as a central point for our volunteers to gather, our board to meet, and our staff to begin the important work of getting At Home up and running," Reichgott said. "We are grateful that so many people in the community have stepped forward to help us establish the office."

Teddi Becker, a member of the At Home board and an executive search professional, is responsible for the search for the part-time executive director and has already spoken with several potential candidates. The Executive Director's primary responsibility will be to assist members with their concerns, establish working alliances between At Home and local service providers, and develop the social, learning and intergenerational programs that will be key to At Home's success.

Becker said she is looking for candidates with a background in social services and experience working with older adults. Those who are interested in learning about the position may contact Becker at beckersearch@verizon.net.
